Establishing a regular dialogue with the maritime industry

Objective:

The objective of Work Package 2 is to ensure that there is regular and sustained interaction between the Arctic science community and the Arctic industry community. The primary goal of this interaction is to develop joint science and industry community priorities for Arctic research and observations.

The structured science-industry interaction will lead to opportunities for technology transfer and innovation to address industry challenges e.g. to reduce environmental impacts (noise, emissions etc.) of ships in polar regions, and opportunities for collaboration and innovation to develop specialised technology of mutual value, e.g. under-ice sensors.

Work Package 2 will collaborate with key companies operating in Arctic waters and with related industry organisations.

Work Package2 is led by the World Ocean Council (WOC).
